Spanish rock star Rosendo at ANU

One of Spain’s most influential rock stars Rosendo Mercado will perform with School of Music students at The Australian National University (ANU) on Friday ahead of his gig at ANU on Saturday 2 April.
 
The rock star who is known to his fans only by his first name, will be available for a media call with students at the School of Music on Friday 1 April.
 
Rosendo and two members of his band will also be available to speak to journalists, while there will be opportunities to photograph and film the star playing with his band.
 
Born in Madrid in 1954, Rosendo Mercado is part of the urban rock movement. In the 1970’s he was a member of the bands Ñu and Leño before embarking on his solo career.
 
Considered to be one of the main influence for rock artists in Spain, Rosendo’s influences include Rory Gallagher, Jethro Tull, Canned Heat, Cream, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. 
 
Rosendo and his band are working with the students on two songs that they’ll perform together as part of Rosendo’s gig at the ANU Bar on 2 April.
